HI-FI Setup

Good day to you all
 
I am a new comer to the world of hi-fi although I enjoy music very.
 
I am thinking of spending my bonus on a good HI-FI listening setup. I already have some elements of it

1. A pair of Grado GS1000i
2. A Garrard SP 25 MK IV turn table
3. An Akai AA-1025 Amplifier

 
My problem here is when it come to assembling the set up and my queries are as follows.
 
Would I need a pre-amp to gain more fidelity?
 
Should I set up some filters?
 
I have a very extensive audio collection in digital format, all of it 320K and up. Would it be any use to find some sort of device to plug my ipod or laptop to the system?
