Those look gorgeous! They really do.

However one thing I've always wondered is how it is supposed to sound better. I'm assuming that Grado designs the transducers to sit in an enclosure with a certain amount of length and air flow among other characteristics. So I wonder how these mods would better what should be an already optimized design.

I'm not convinced the HF-1 drivers sit in an optimized design. Personally, strikes me Grado had a great thing with the wooden housed drivers, but then tossed it in a SR225 frame. I like my HF-1 but I keep on wishing it sounded a touch more substantial. Maybe the woody'ing would do that.

I think those look pretty good. Personally I'm a fan of the red-stained wood woodies, but that's cool too.

Nice cans, congrats grawk. Though I think you and larry should've worked something out to make the headband out of polarbear fur.
