Where can you get these ms2is? The Alessandro product page doesn't show an "I" model?

Of the options listed I selected the HF-1. Another option that was mentioned was the MS2i, and that 'phone is a more capable one than the HF-1 (IMO); I still prefer the presentation of the HF-1 so I would still select the HF-1 over the MS2i (though ideally one could buy both because the MS2i is of higher resolution while the HF-1 is just so fun). I might even prefer the HF-1 to the RS-2! However the territory of the RS-1 is clear to me (and I prefer the MS-Pro to the RS-1)! Then there's the GS-1000 (unique presentation, but I still prefer the MS-Pro), the HP-1000 (very linear but boring to me) and the PS-1 Pro (my favorite when its bass is controlled - the EAR HP4, Singlepower MPX3 SLAM SE and Zana Deux are all EXCELLENT with this one). Now that I've over-answered the topic I'll slink back to my cave.

Oh and Kelvin: all current-production MS2 'phones are of the "i" variety - when John Grado made the move from SR325 to SR325i the Alessandro equivalents followed.

The SR225's are the best Grados for the money - by far! And they sound great to boot!

Yes, of what's available now. The HF-1's held that title for a short while.

Never had the HF-1, but I have owned the SR225, SR225i, SR325i, and SR325is. The SR225 or "i" gets my vote. I too suffered from the "overly bright" phenomenon of the SR325's. I thought a tube amp would tame some of it, but not enough to my liking. Plus like earlier posts, the SR225 is the best value of the bunch. If you're eventually going to Grado upgrade, I would get the SR225 for now and then when the right time comes along, jump to the Reference series. If you're lucky used SR225 can be had for $100-150. I have had the older sr325 and they where to bright for my taste. I have not listened to the newer sr325i. I sold the 325,s and bought some rs1 and been very happy with them.
