From what i remember, it worked with my boomslang, all of a sudden it wont recognize the dacmagic or the d12. it shows as nothing is plugged in.. help! win 7 64bit.

Are you using Foobar? Output Digital (SPDIF)....?

Uhm... windows won't recognize anything, as optical is pure streaming, nothing is "connected" to say "hello" when using optical. Set output to your optical source and use that.
