Clearly we're not going to agree. But I will posit that for a person to determine this themselves, they can view the body of review work done on the akg line up. The design has a history of lacking bass, whatever the other merits are. I think the x2 bass is better on nearly every level, but that's a personal opinion. I do think the lack of bass on 712s is objective though.

For quality recordings, K712's bass is not lacking for a reference headphone. It's indeed on the warm side of things.

due to my limited english I couldn't find the right way to describe what I was missing when I started this thread, K702 were too cold, I want more bass just enough to have a warmer sound preserving detail and soundstage
I'm reading all replies here and they are all with good tips and informations to consider and that I didn't know
