Is the only way to connect a dap to my stereo by 3.5m lead?

I don’t have expensive setup just an all in one system Technics ottava sc70 which has usb, optical and aux input. I’m wondering if I can use the optical input or usb input linked from a Fiio M6 .
Thank you and apologies for a stupid question!

USB almost certainly not. Optical is fine if your M6 supports it and you have the right adapter. Unfortunately, I think most S/PDIF out on DAPs is coax rather than optical.

So yeah, most likely you're gonna have to use a 3.5mm stereo -> 2 x RCA cable. Run the DAP on full volume output (fixed mode) and control volume with your Technics.

Be careful not to blow your brains out or destroy your earphones when you unplug the DAP from the stereo and use it as a DAP

other experimentations (just thinking not that I have done it...)
- You could try via Bluetooth...
- If you could sideload the Technics Music App. And access via WIFI. (long shot)

Great! Upto what resolution you could play: 24/192? DSD128? Just curious....

DSD over bluetooth? That's kinda remarkable.

No Bro, over Wifi using the Technics Music App.
That's still way cool. I don't think my Yamaha does DSD except over USB or USB device.
