I've got a Cambridge Audio 640p for ~$160 that I use and love. I'm sure you can't go wrong with the 540p for $90.

The TC-760LC is cheaper and actually far more convenient to use. You can adjust the output gain to match your CD/DVD player output as an example. Sound wise there are about even. A little birdy even told me that the NAD is made in the same factory as the TC-760LC. I actually got a TC-760 output plugged into a analog to digital converter. This is then plugged into my TC-7510 MK6 DAC. And that's my pre-amp set up for my PC. The amp is a Linn LK2. A very small footprint bedroom system that sounds very nice.
