Ok, about 3 or
4
years ago I dove into the head-fi world and purchased my first headphone/amp combo. I'm ready to make my first upgrade now and feel more novice than when after I made the first purchase. Here's my setup:

AKG K701's
Corda Aria Amp

Most of my listening is done through non-upgraded iMAC with lossless ripping.
Some listening (maybe 20%) is from a pretty standard SONY CD turntable.

What is my next move to improve the setup?

That's a good looking amp. Nothing says bling than a shiny tube amp with coke bottles. :) Maybe something from Woo or Decware? The HD800 looks sweet also and sounds amazing.

Budget?

Budget isn't a huge issue. I'm really looking to improve my current setup, rather than replace key components. If I can do that for a hundred bucks or so, great. If it costs 500ish, fine. If 1000 or over, I'm guessing we're looking at changing out the headphones or amp, which I'd be happy to hear info on, but won't necessarily act on unless you're very convincing.

Thanks for all the help.

If you don't buy them, I'm moving in tomorrow and I get real moody if the beer isn't cold.

Better amp or better headphones.  It's all about the chain of events that takes place, before the sound waves reach your ears.  A sound card upgrade is never a bad thing either.
