Buy the best used PSB speakers you can afford. PSB's are the best value in speakers on the planet!!

That's a gross oversimplification you are refering to (tubes>warm).

I can't comment on PSBs, but I know most comments on MIT are that they are warm. Do you really want to buy an amp to match your speaker cables? Seems like an amp is the more primary component--that's the way I conceptualize it anyway, and the way I plan/ build my system.

For relatively troublefree audio, I would personally go with a Brit SS amp like the MF, Creek, or Rega. Other than that, I'm pretty much commited to tube gear.
