Radiohead. I particularly like OK Computer and In Rainbows.

So many choices but since you asked for only 1 recommendation I'll go with a box set...

Citizen Steely Dan: 1972-1980 - 4 disc set with the first 7 albums plus a few b-sides and live cuts.

Oh..and...
x2 on Richard Thompson's Watching the Dark.

Hope you have insurance that will cover most of the cost. I vote for drawing and quartering whomever pilfered your cds. Perhaps a new poll thread with voting for the appropriate punishment for the evildoer should be started.

I would offer that if you are in need of something to listen to head on over to The Archive Untold riches await you in streams and downloadable music.
If you need more live music there is also bt.etree.org the home of many many live shows.
Both of these sources are legal and supported by enthusiasts not unlike ourselves in our passion for music.
I would also be happy to share anything I have in my collection that is legally tradeable, so PM if interested, I love to do a B&P for you.

X2. Also, if you like that, you might like Silent Alarm by Bloc Party.

Here's one from each of my favorite genres I'd immediately replace:

"Alina," Arvo Pärt
"Yankee Hotel Foxtrot," Wilco
"Waltz for Debby," Bill Evans Trio
"6 & 12 String Guitar," Leo Kottke

I looked through my last.fm and music library and this is what I came up with.

The bolded album would probably be my first

Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV
Metallica - Master of Puppets, ...And Justice For All
Radiohead - OK Computer
Modest Mouse - Lonesome Crowded West
Orbital - Orbital II / The Brown Album
Daft Punk - Homework, Discovery
Underworld - Beaucoup Fish, Dubnobasswithmyheadman
Leftfield - Leftism
The Chemical Brothers - Exit Planet Dust, Surrender
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works
The Prodigy - The Fat of the Land
The Crystal Method - Vegas
Justice - Cross
Massive Attack - Mezzanine
Air - Talkie Walkie

Wow! This is getting a great deal of responses! I think I am going to buy around 5 albums a week and I plan on editing my first post to let everyone know what I picked up. I will start next weekend when I get home with the first 5 albums. I am only going to do 5 a week so I have a fair amount of time with each as my new job is quite hectic. Each CD will be ripped to FLAC and listened to with a Rockboxed Ipod. Because of my job I am forced to use a portable rig to get any listening in. Thanks again for all of the replies!

Beck - Sea Change (the Mobile Fidelity one that's coming out)

It will be extra win if you have a SACD player (though there's a redbook layer too). And no, I haven't heard the MoFi version of this yet (I've heard the standard release), but that's exactly why I'd buy it!
