[Spillages]

So after months of off and on searching, my choices are narrowed down to these 3.

AKG Q701
Beyerdynamic DT990
Sennheiser PC 360

I'm halfway leaning towards the dt990 because of the bass and price compared to the q701

Pc360 is in there because of the mic and it can still keep up with competitors. Will save the annoyance of an add on mix for the other 2.

Q701 I've heard is by far the best choice but lacks in the low end bass department, this is my first set of high end equipment so I still don't know if it will matter. All I know is that if I don't have a good enough woofer in any other stereo it just isn't enjoyable for me.


Next, I will want a sound card for the PC, that is just about all I will ever use these with, movies and games, along with a bit of music thrown in while gaming. As far as these go, I really have no idea what I want. So please throw something at me

Third I've heard I will want an amplifier for best quality, all I've heard here is a mix amp, any other options?

What kind of music will you be listening to? No headphone will be able to provide the same physical impact as a subwoofer, in terms of bass.
 
The Q701 may not be the best choice, unless you plan to get an amplifier as well.
 
The DT990, depending on the model you are getting, may require an amplifier.
