Hey guys,

I need a bit of help picking out a DAC. I have a MisterX PPAv2 and I just ordered a some Sennheiser HD650's. At the moment, I have a MisterX AlienDAC but the upgrade bug has hit me. I'd like a DAC that has a USB option, preferably. And since I'm still fairly newq to this, I'll defer to everyones judgment. I need a DAC that will has synergy with my headphones and amp. Any suggestions? I'd like to keep the price around ~$400.

I'm thinking about the Headroom MicroDAC. Is this a good choice?

I own a MicroDAC and really love it. Never heard it with HD650 though. Only Grados and AKGs ...

The Scott Nixon DAC rocks with my HD580s.

I do feel that there is a slight rolling off of the highs. This is very typical of NOS DACs it seems.

PPAv2 is a great amp. I love it.

The good news is that 650's work well with so much equipment! I have experience with RSA and Headroom and both have been a wonderful combination.
