This is a nice little amp I won at a head-fi meet raffle a couple of years ago. Built and donated by Paul / Front Panel Express. I gave it to my daughter to use with her D2000's, but a few months ago the volume pot went out, so I ripped it off the board in order to replace it.
 
I called and sent pics to Mouser and never got a reply. Paul hasn't logged on to head-fi for almost a year and I'm wondering if anyone help me find a replacement?

Just from the shell, it looks like a Bourns Audio taper 50K pot.

Thanks! That sure does look like it although I dont remember the metal shaft being that beefy. I think I'll just order one and find out!
 
EDIT: That one is not in stock and has a 16 week lead time. Do you think I could use this one instead?

The description says it's "50K linear" instead of "50K audio" like the one you listed...

It's 50K.
 
The amp is a DIY - Paul built about a dozen of them for the raffle.

You can not use a linear pot in place of an audio taper. 
 
You may be able to find the same pot without the switch, if you dont need the switch.

I'd use the Alps that Nikongod posted above if it is the same physical size. Pinout will be the same. Probably a better pot as well. Amb sells these also.

That link didnt provide a photo so I couldnt tell if it would fit. The description also says 10K and I need 50K. Will it still be a suitable replacement?

EDIT: it looks like the pins are different on this one and wont fit on the board. This is beginning to look like the quest for the Holy Grail...LOL

Looks very much like the unit I used on my first cmoy amp kit from JDS Labs.  Check out their diy parts section - they seem to carry the pot.

Good eye BK, thanks! That's the Alps pot that Nikongod linked above. Its a 10K pot, but since my 50K pot appears to be unobtainable, I think Im going to risk the $3.00 and see how the Alps works.
