Actually, that’s not too expensive.
I’m just suprised a much lower end amp would do the job.
So what I gather from certain comments is DAC < Amp and other comments Amp < Dac
What is the pairing was with an HD 800S ? Would 750US give me anything decent as a dac/amp? (Schiit or not)

Just my 2 cents: I currently use the Bifrost 2 / Lyr 3 with HD800S' and I love it. Upgraded from the HD600, Asgard 2 and Modi 3 - noticeable improvement each time I moved up in the product lines.

The other beauty of the Bifrost is the upgradeability - more expensive now but consider it an investment for future analog boards, etc

Lyr 3 is also very easy to tube roll - really customizable sound
