Hi everyone,

I recently wanted to get a better sound from the music from my phone, so ripped all my CD's into Apple Lossless and bought a pair of Philips Fidelio M1 on-ear headphones.

Really like the headphones, but want to now get a seperate DAP to seperate the music from my phone, and will need the extra storage as all the music is now lossless.

I've been reading through the forums for the past couple of weeks trying to get as much info as I can, and the options I have at the moment are:

1) iPod classic - ease of use and the large storage
2) Fiio X3 - positives are sound quality, but not sure about software yet
3) Sansa Clip+  or Zip, but then get the Fiio E17 as well

I like option 3, as I could use the Fiio E17 as a headphone amp for the Sansa Clip, and then also use it on my mac as a Dac/headphone amp for that.

I am very new to this so any help or advice would be really appreciated on other DAPs or DACs and amps. (My overall budget is around £250 ($400) but can increase a bit if I have to.

Cheers
