Ok, so here's what I did: (NO LAUGHING)
I opened up my 580s to fix some intermittency today. In the process, I accidentally pulled the aluminum wire from its tiny hole and hence its connection with the coil. I managed to fit it back into the hole, but the sound goes in and out. So I need something to secure the Al wire so it won't bounce in and out of contact with the coil. My question is, what would I be able to use that wouldn't affect sound quality? Glue, tape, chewing gum?! The phones are out of warranty so I might as well try something. HELP!
I did fix the intermittency though!
