A friend of mine is looking to get into computer audio and has asked me to help him find an integrated amp that has a decent dac in it.  He said he's willing to spend about a grand.  The way he described it was that he wants a dac with the ability to drive speakers, stating that he already has a nice analog system and would use the new component primarily as a source for the old system, and secondarily as something to drive a set of speakers run into the kitchen.
 
Right now, i can only think of one candidate:  the Peachtree Nova.

The only other candidates I can think of are the Naim Unitiqute and the Nu-Force Icon, but with price-tags of just about twice and one-fourth the budget, consecutively, they just wont do.
 
Can you guys suggest something?

NAD's got an offering, the M15 I think, but it's out of the price range.  The Peachtree is the only unit that fills the bill off of the top of my head.
