Hi guys, I'm new here.

I don't know anything about the quality of the many different kinds of ear buds & headphones - so be gentle.

I want something with a 'thump'

The ones that I keep seeing for bass-heavy recommendations are the HiSoundAudio Wooduo2?

Are these still the case in 2014?

Also - I'd be happy to hear more recommendations (including bass heavy headphones too)

I know beats are 'popular' for bass heavy, but generally people say they are poo sound quality.

How do the wooduo2's compare to beats regarding just bass?

Hi and welcome to head-fi!

In regards to your first request, I'd also recommend trying the Donscorpio bass color.

As for your second, the wooduo, to my ears, has better bass response and quality over beats, though less 'punch'. They are also much clearer in the mids and treble range, making the beats sound absolutely muddy in comparison.

Thanks slash - I'll look into them as well.

I know the wooduo2 are supposed to be 'much' better audio quality than beats, but if I can at least 'match' the bass thump that beats offer, I'd be happy.

Looking on this site, there are so many options to choose from, so many terms I don't understand that I thought I'd just ask.

Cheer - I'm currently only using a pair of budget SoundMagic e10's

So, looking for more of a bass-thumping experience.

My music genres are mainly:

Rock (not metal)
Dance
Trance
Hardcore
Nightcore
Rap/hip-hop

& general 'chart' music
