Hey guys as i said in the title it will be my first time buying good quality headphones and venturing away from skullcandy earbuds. Anyway my budget is under $160 but that is a little bit flexible. I will be listening to hip hop/rap and dubstep so i would like a good bass.

We'll need more specifics. What are you using to drive the headphones (what are you plugging them into)? Do they need to be portable (are you using them in the house or out and about)? And, related to the last question, do you need closed headphones for isolation or are you ok with open-back headphones?

I will be mainly using my samsung galaxy s2 and i would prefer the headphones to be close in the back so i have more noise cancellation, but i will take open back. And i will be using them mainly in house

And how do the Ultrasone HFI-580 compare to say the sennheiser 558's

The HFI-580's are a lot more portable and have better isolation, the downside is that the clamp they have is a bit tight but it does get rid of the sound leaking that the 558's have.

558 are open, thus, no noise cancellation at all.
