Well, my Philips 963SA won't turn on any longer. I had unplugged it yesterday and had it sitting over night in my bedroom. Went to power it on today to mess with the settings and now it just won't power on. My bedroom is kind of cold. Could this have caused it? I don't really know. It just won't work any more.

So, I'm in need of a CD Player. $200.00 or less. Something that will be good enough to run into my NAD C325BEE and Infinity Primus speakers. Used is perfectly fine with me.

I'm just bummed....Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Edit: I guess I could go a bit higher if necessary.

CE595 is decent player, had one for a bit...was really nice.

Maybe a used Marantz 5001 if you can find it. Azur 340 is said to be a decent player...might be able to find one refurbed or used.

Thanks HighLife.

The CE595 is the 5-disc changer, right?

I prefer single disc players so I'll check out the 5001 and Azur 340. I some experience with Marantz.

I was initially thinking about just pair an NAD player with my NAD integrated. Might have a 521BEE available to purchase. Anyone with thoughts there? What about the 525BEE? This is just the update of the 521, right?

Thanks!

yes its a 5 disc SACD player.

I actually prefer CD changers....just load it up with 5 CD's and enjoy.

Now i have to switch CD's every 30-50mins ....gets lame after the 4-5th CD change.

Also a plus it plays SACD's. To my ears there is a slight difference in the recording of the normal. However you cant use a external DAC for SACD since the SACD has to be processed on board in the sony.

I ended up going with the NAD C525BEE. I'm a fan of Marantz gear, but I really didn't care for my dad's 8260 paired with my NAD integrated, plus I got a really good price for a pretty much brand new one on Audiogon.
