Hello Head-Fi,

Hearing health and the enjoyment of sound go hand-in-hand. We invite you to perform a simple and effective hearing test using our free Hearing Test app (App Store, Play Store) to see how your ears are doing these days.

Think of the app as a good hearing wellness checkup that you can do yourself, virtually anywhere. From there, you may feel inclined to change your listening habits, pick up a set of earplugs, double-down on your existing regimen, adjust the stereo balance of your rig, or even see a hearing care professional (HCP) based on the results. Of course, the app is no substitute for the expertise of an HCP, but is a friction-free first step to self awareness. Simply search your respective app store for "Sennheiser Hearing Test", grab a pair of headphones (wired or wireless!) and get started.

In the app you can:
  • Perform a hearing test (headphones required)
  • See your results, visualized
  • Get up to speed on hearing health
  • Log your results over time
  • Set reminders to take another test

Here are a few screenshots:

Note: You do not need a Sennheiser account to perform the test. However if you'd like to take full advantage of results logging, reminders, and deeper hearing health education, an account will unlock those features.

Some helpful notes:
  • The test takes about 5 minutes on average
  • A quiet space is necessary, as you'll be testing your ability to hear low volume signals at varying frequencies
  • Turn off active noise cancellation if you use it
  • Don't rush - take your time
  • You do not need Sennheiser headphones, nor do you need wireless headphones
  • You can test as often as you'd like

We hope this app is insightful for you, and wish you many more years of enjoying your music collection!

Here's a screenshot of the app tile logo so you can visually recognize it in your app store

Can the app be used offline?

Kr,
1. Yes, but account integration and some personalization is forfeited for obvious reasons
2. No

Well I just tested the app. It is not working correctly.
Upon sliding the dial there's is no sound till a faint pop is heard indicating sound reproduction, immediately after that sound. This should be gradually augmented and I do not hear the gradual augmentation. I most definitively can hear lower than the lowest generated sound provided by the app.

It suggested that I should wear hearing aid🤔
Sonova,is that you?

To add to this I went on and did a hearing test on the most downloaded app in the play store. Not only did this app generate tones 4 times lower than the one from sennheiser, i could pick these up.
This app showed me no issues with my hearing.

Try this one. It takes awhile to calibrate. But generated tones go way lower than the app from sennheiser.
As much as I like sennheiser their app smells fishy😒

How accurate can the results be when there is no calibration for the frequency response of the particular set of headphones used during the test? I guarantee I'd get different results using my $30 Koss headphones as compared to, say Focal Clear or Senn HD-600.

This is a high-level, DIY test. If you are interested in absolute clinical results, we'd suggest going to see a hearing health care professional where specific frequencies can be tested on clinical test equipment. For those that are curious this is a tool you can try at your leisure.
