It is told in some other thread that those Ultra Micro DAC and Amps will be AC powered only and will be using a brick power supply. In that case, I would not call them portable.

I am crossing fingers for the "next gen" MicroDAC. Hoping for some impoved battery operation etc...

jamey from Headroom said to answer my question that there won't be any portable stand alone DAC operating on batteries.

The lithium battery operated Micro is said to be a Micro amp with the optional DAC upgrade.

I just wanted to combine the information I got from some other threads... Hope this was a bit helpful.

I like the idea of the speaker stands. I want to use my Epos ELS3 as my desktop speakers but I wanted something solid and nice (non DIY) looking to raise them off my desktop.

He's probably talking about the revised Desktop Portable Amp which will have internal rechargable Lithium Ion batteries with Home Module and Home DAC options.

He said with MAX modules and around $1K, so this leaves AC powered ones as the only options, as I am told by some guy called jamey

I just wanted to relay some info I got, but I also felt sorry when I found out that there won't be a battery operated Micro DAC with MAX module...

I love my current Micro DAC as it is and use it portable all the time. It would be great to have an option to make this source better without loosing its portability.

You want to carry around a car battery? 'Cuz that's what it would take. Mikhail wouldn't be able to make a 300B amp portable either. If you're going portable, you just HAVE to make some concessions. I know it's not easy to see from in here sometimes, but there is a practical and scientificly rigid reality out there.

Tyll, Could you possibly put up a pic of the speaker stands I have heard about?
