Hi,

I am looking for a portable headphone for around £100 which doesn't leak sound and provides fair isolation. The sound signature I am looking for is spacious with deep bass, something like the sound coming from stereo speaker systems (I know I'm talking about something that is not really possible considering the driver size of a speaker and the size of a headphone, but I'm looking for something that is a bit close to it - just don't know how to exactly describe it so I hope someone understands what I'm trying to say...)

Would anyone be able to suggest me an appropriate pair of phones? By the way my source is an iPod Classic without an amp.

Thank you

Sony XB series.

Okay so Sony MDR-XB700. Anything else that you think I should consider looking at as well? These headphones seem to be so big... Other than that if I want to get them I'm worried that after a while of wearing it will get my ears hot and sweaty because of the urethane pads.

Thanks alot

This will be a minority viewpoint but thinking out of the box recommendation here: Bose IE. Spacious sound as they sit in the bowl of your ear instead of in the ear canal, decent bass, and almost zero leakage. Available everywhere and returnable if you don't like them. No pad on the ears and crazy comfortable. I forget they are in.

get some IE8 or the ATH-CKS77. I believe i know what your talking about as i have a fairly awesome car setup that i did all myself. Id suggest the IE8's.

Guys thanks but I'm not looking for IEMs, I'm looking for portable headphones like the XB500/700 but without sound leakage and urethane pads so my ears don't get sweaty.

I appreciate all of your thoughts
Thanks alot

Okay after doing some research, I have come down to these options:
  1. Sennheiser PX 200
  2. PX 360
  3. HD 239
  4. HD 449
  5. HD 25 I

I wasn't able to find that much of detail for some of them. Would you please help me choose between these for the best isolation and least/none sound leakage?

Thanks alot
