Hi All,

I am looking for an upgrade to my closed cans (Senn HD280 pros).

I have narrowed to DT770 250 Ohm Beyers or Modded T50RP Fostex - but I would welcome other recs.

Would like to stay around $200.

I like Rock, Classic Rock, Folk, 70's rock, prog rock, some jazz with good vocals, no classical, but barocque and chamber sometimes.

I like strong punchy bass - I don't like overwhelming / bloated bass.

Good clear mids and highs - but non fatiguing highs are important.

I love my Grado 225i's, but I cant use them at night (bothers my wife).

I am looking for compatability with my LD MKIII.  Source is Apple lossles or 256 AAC from iphone or Macbook (no DAC as yet).  I also use an airhead for semi-portable.  Will usually just use in ears straight from iphone for portable.

Thanks.

Gregg D

Probably should have posted to Headphones - however - my primary concern is compatabity and performance with LD MK III.

I've owned the HD 280's for about 4 years now and purchased the BD DT770 Pro 250OHM almost a month ago. I'm using them with a Fiio E7 and Fiio E9. The difference to my ears is that the 770's have a much fuller sound compared to the 280's. I scored my pair from Amazon warehouse for $127, like new. The box had a dent as stated in the description and I couldn't find any signed of use.

Sorry I don't have any experience with your amp.
