Allnic 300B:
Presentation is nice and ubiquitous with its packaging.
First thoughts: definitely better than ACME, second thought more linear than WE300B.
Subsequent impressions they maintain 300B sound with more exercise as they're not as bloated or blunted although, to be clear, they aren't as proficient as Elrogs and nothing probably ever will be unless using the same materials.
A lack of sweetness is present comparatively something that I'll boil down later.
I'll let 'em burn to 100 hours, without quirks, and dig into the minutiae more.

I am sure manufacturing is slow and painstaking which calls the price, but we need more approachable 300B options and those better delineated compared to their performance IMO. It won't happen but a gripes a gripe.

Good report!

How does the quality of construction look to your eye? As far as I know you and @ColSaulTigh have the largest collections and the most experience with 300B tubes here on Head-Fi. Just wondering if you'd share a bit more on even the glass envelope quality as well as the ever important internals quality.

For example my Elrog 300b Mo have a very substantial and hefty glass envelope. One can really see it and feel it in hand, the quality.

Thanks so much.

The quality looks good although it feels the industry follows a WE formula but between the glass and filaments, care is present.
They aren't overbuilt like Elrogs as far as the construction goes.

We take turns blowing small fortunes on light bulbs. Currently I've been on a vinyl kick, so I'm leaving the heavy lifting to others at the moment. I'll probably do some more acquisitions in 2024 (I'm lookin' at you, TM's...)

A while back on this thread, I said I was working on a 300B amp for Zach Mehrbach. Well, we decided to go 2A3 instead since he has a few 300B amps already, really happy with the outcome. Thought I'd show it here since ya'll are DHT heads. Build details:

- Custom mains and filament transformers from Monolith Magnetics
- Separate B+ and bias supply regulators for each channel to minimize crosstalk
- Rod Coleman filament regulators
- 5687 / 7044 / E182CC input stage, LED biased
- Monolith Magnetics nanocrystalline core interstage transformers
- Fixed bias 2A3 output stage
- Monolith Magnetics nanocrystalline core output transformers with 120ohm, 32ohm, and 8ohm taps
- Besides the power supply, no capacitors in the signal path

I was ready to buy those allnics but I just found out they scrapped production due to the recession in Korea, unfortunately. So FYI for anybody that was interested.

I doubt it, but if you ever want to let those go hit me up!

We'll check this status for clarification.

It was direct from allnic, fwiw
Lots of politics with this one.

Allnic stopped 300B production. Full stop.

Zero Mountain will continue.

Unfortunate.

Too bad!

The Allnic 300Bs were going to be a holiday gift for me from my family.

Well, maybe I'll try the Stradi...

Maybe
Audio Note 4300E still gets high marks from me.

Thank you. The truth is the I'm more curious than anything.

I'm very happy with the Elrog 300b Mo. As a matter of fact I think it's taken nearly 300 hours for them to really strut. The were very good early on. Now they've filled in and have a tremendous texture and depth. Really a very special tube.
