I have one of these - mighty tippy and not enough room at the base for some headphones with stiff cable attachments.

Headphone stands are easy to make and customize it to your headphones.  I made more than 10 stands.  If you're interested, I can show the pictures.

any modern recommendations ? something that can hold more than 1. The one I have is from mocreo and has crap build quality and keeps tipping over with the gentlest tap.

Check out the Silverstone headphone stand. Supposedly its very stable and capable of holding two headphones.

I haven't been on here in a long while because I am really quite satisfied with all my gear, believe it or not. But I am resurrecting this old thread to show what I did this weekend:

I finally decided to treat my babies with the respect they deserve (rather than keeping them scattered all over the house in random drawers & whatever). After a lot of searching I came up with this arrangement. It is a glass whiteboard by Quartet and headphone hangers by Neetto (just from Amazon). I think it looks pretty nice.

I'd be much too worried about stretching out the headbands on that thing... it's got quite the girth.
At least the LCD-X uses a metal headband.
Definitely wouldn't dare put plastic headbands on that for an extended period of time.
