I like it because it puts very little stress on the headband, and nothing goes in between the pads. The guy is selling them on his website but he's open to doing custom jobs, I'm about to ask him to make me a stand specifically for my Grado HP2.
 
There is choice for the finish, the wood, and he even paints it to the colors of your choice (http://hieutrunghandcrafts.com/product_m1custom.html)

When it comes to wood headphone stands, I don't think it can get much better than this (not mine or by me, it's by grainacoustics):
