I've heard people suggesting that its best to go to the store and try the headphones out first. I've been looking through my local yellowpages and I don't see any stores that have high quality headphones. What are some common stores that have Denon's, Sennheisers, Koss's, or AKG's?

Funny you should post this. Just yesterday, I went to the local hi-fi store in Rockville Centre on Long Island, NY, and while the owner offered a great many amps and turntables to be had, there was a disappointing lack of headphones. I'm wondering the same thing.

There aren't that many places with quality headphones. Where do you live? Someone might know of one near you. Also, check the meets and events forum. If there's a meet nearby, go. You'll get to audition lots of great headphones and gear.

Your location would help.

Well, without a location its impossible to provide any informations.
Since its pointless to list stores in China, Japan, Australia, Norway, ... if you live in the US. Or the other way around...

This is awesome news, I'm going to Perth today to visit my dad. Hopefully I won't be so jet-lagged that I won't be able to go.

Nothing like visiting local stores to audition all their models.
Then you have a much larger base of knowledge when you choose a certain headphone.
