I'm currently on a pair of self-made but excellent Open Alphas(they're literally homemade Alpha Dogs), and I'm looking to move on to something better for Christmas.
Reasons for moving on is that I have some issues with my homemade cables for my Alphas and the cup is a bit damaged. Considering how it took approx 3 months for me to make the Alphas and this Christmas occasion, I might as well save the effort.
Any recommendations for something very neutral or has the same lush mids of the Alphas but with some more sub-bass and treble?
The $200 discount on the just released Audeze LCD-2C is enticing, but I'm not sure it justifies the $600 price tag as I've spent less than half the price of Beats to fabricate my own Alphas. $650 would land me a used pair of Aeon Closed. $800 for the also just released Massdrop x Focal Elex.
I've also heard good things on the Monoprice M1060s and the Hifiman He560s.
As for music choice, I mainly listen to electric, rock, and anything else that sounds interesting(basically everything else).
Amp recommendations for recommended headphones would be nice as well. Thanks
