MS-1 comfort seems to be person to person, I hate the bowls but I have a huge head. And the softies that come on the MS-1s feel fine after hours of use.

If you cant expand your budget to $140 for some Senn HD580's from B&H get the MS1's

beware that if you buy the A700... you might want to get the A900 in the future!

oh, and note: ATH-A700 and ATH-AD700 are completely different. the A700 is closed, the AD700 is open

How does the A700 compare to the AD700 in terms of sound quality. I'm thinking at the moment that I want open air headphones, and a lot of people say the MS-1s are uncomfortable, which might make them unsuitable for speaker replacement headphones for my computer. How do the AD700s, Sennheiser 555s, and the Sennheiser 580s(assuming I can find a place still selling them) compare? Can a computer analogue audio out power all three of these?

The 580s sound very tempting, and I'll see if I can expand my budget by a little.
