Hi there Head-Fi! 

As you should hopefully be able to tell from the topic, I'm in the market for some HE-400s. Unfortunately, as efficient as they are I doubt the built in sound chip of my 2 year old Asus laptop will be able to power the things. I have a spare $200 laying around and I hope to be able to use it for a nice Dac and AMP. 

Any suggestions?

Try asking on this thread about what DAC/Amp ($200 budget) to get to use with the HE-400.
