Any recommendations on headphone amps for my dt770's 250ohm pros. My budget is roughly $200 or less. I know its not a alot but im on a tight budget atm and want to get the most quality out of the headphones i have with the money i have too. Any tips or suggestions are awesome. I dont plan on using them on the go so no need for a portable one. I plan on using it with my computer for music listening and playing games. Thanks

I was thinking of replacing my xonar hdav 1.3 with that but been finding mixed views on if it's worth the $200 or if a $200 headphone amp would be better. But that was on my watchlist. Have you had any exp with it?

I'm going to buy Audio-GD FUN with OPA-Earth and OPA-Moon. Not sure yet will I buy 250ohm or 80ohm version of pro's, but prolly will sound great.

Just picked it up on Friday. The install was easy. Be sure you have a spare Molex (4 pin) power adapter from the PSU. Otherwise you need a splitter (2 or 3 bucks). Coming from Creative drivers, the install was a breeze (10mb file). It's driving my Sennheiser HD650 with ease. It's nice, I like it.

Yeah my hdav needs a spare molex also. I just didn't know how the essence compared to dedicated headphone amps. I don't know if I want a solid state or tube amp. Never heard a comparison between the 2. Might see if I can hit up a guitar center and see if they have any to demo.

I know I could use an astro mixamp with my pc and xbox. How do they fair compared to the essence stx? It's cheaper and I already have decent dacs in my xonar hdav 1.3 so. Any suggestions are appreciated.
