ok I have finally entered the headphone fray by ordering the yuin pk1 - will the pico slim drive them well from my iphone/ or itouch or do I need the pico amp?

Both will drive them but the pico slim will probably sound better thanks to its superior volume control and you probably won't need the extra power of the pico amp.
