stax demo going out tomorrow to #1, ninjames.  so i will have about 5 days to prepare the rest of the list..

i decided to include a Pico USB DAC so if you have a computer this is a complete setup.

Wow, we're really getting spoiled here! So in a few days we'll know if we made the list or not?
Thanks a lot Justin, this thing just keeps getting better and better!

Will this ever be restarted?

things are getting real sketchy on the shipping/deliveries so probably not.  the west coast audeze pair sat in a post office for a week while the sender couldn't find the tracking # and the recipient didn't know delivery had been attempted.  today the person receiving the east coast pair says they "still havent arrived" (at a company in the U.S. across the Canadian border) while tracking shows it was delivered Tuesday and I called that company and they said they received it.  i think this is it, it requires too much micromanaging to keep things on track.  for free, anyway.

Might be easier to load them up in the head-fi mobile and tour the country...heh not really realistic but would be fun.  Spend a few days in each location and let the masses come to you.  Call it a PR/marketing tour, could get 'sponsorship' from the OEM's.

it has been done before, but was ahead of its time: http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/general/messages/207463.html

Ive thought of doing it but would require building some sort of mobile amplifier assembly lab..taking a couple days to go to a meet is hard enough

I for one would most certainly be interested in paying for the opportunity to be involved in these kinds of demos. I would happily pay the shipping costs and much more. Hopefully something like that would work. If not, and if I don't make it into the 10 Stax demo'ers (was it 9pm EST or EDT haha), I'm fine with that and it was still fun to be involved. Thanks Justin.

Well that stinks that the shipment that came to me was part of the problem but if you plan on doing this again I don't think anyone would blame you for wanting to charge and I would gladly sign up and pay because this is a great chance to hear the latest and greatest out there.

Would agree here. Make it worth your time and whatnot.

And it was going so well too. The loaner program works. It's thanks to Justin that I was able to demo the LCD2, and make me fall in love enough to buy them off Headamp. It's people like that, that you wanna give your business to.

I hope everything gets solved and is accounted for soon enough.

I think the safest thing to do is to loan those who have been on the site long enough and have some feedback. People you know won't just disappear.
