Thanks for the comments about the soundstaging capabilities :)  It sounds like the BHSE will be a considerable improvement over the entry-level amps for presenting a 3D sound for the SR007A and SR009, but not to the level of something like the BA+HD800.

It'd be interesting to find out whether the soundstage feels noticably larger on the SR009 than the SR007A through the BHSE, but that's probably a discussion for another thread.

I've decided to halt my upgrades until my BHSE finishes, and then decide what the next course of action will be.  It's hard to make a good decision on what to upgrade next since the amp situation is bottlenecking everything for me, and is mitigating any changes to my chain.  I'm glad Justin is periodically updating the build status for the bulk order, since it makes the wait easier being reassured that things are moving along in a pretty deliberate manner.

I've never listened to a Balancing Act.
I know people are talking great things about it, but I decided to preorder the Cavalli Audio Liquid Fire instead.
Had a HD800 in the past and, altough its sound stage was indeed excellent, I prefered my LCD-2.
Regards,
Erico

The last 2 of the first batch of BHSEs being finished now - #21 and #22.

great news, thanks Justin. the train has left the station.

i'm not sure where i stand in the line, i ordered March 1st. but if i get the meaning of 'first batch' correctly you've done 4-5 this week, and do the same next week, hopefully i'm coming up soon.

my 009's arrived Friday and i have a quad of metal base NOS Philips EL34's on the way. so the timing is good.

Wow!  That's a lot faster than I had expected.  I thought the end of 2011 estimate was a bit of relentless optimism

  Time to start researching tubes!

Based on my reading, are the Fat Boy (GE) tubes the best for soundstage and bass?  It seems like EL34 Mullards excel at mid-range?

Awesome, thank you.  I ran across one of Elephas' posts listing a number of the EL34s and will use that as my reference, and will also check out his posts on the other site.

Now time to find a good tube tester... some of the prices out there are a bit

Dear Justin,
Are there any news of the Aristaeus amplfier that has been ordered of the last batch?
I ordered the BHSE at the time of Japanese Tsunami, when do you expect it to be finished?
I also have original stax inlet that used in the reference Stax amplifier, can I send to use that pair for
the BHSE?
thanks,
Kiertijai

No Aristaeus will ship until the BHSEs are all shipped

The Stax jack will not fit the holes in the front panels
