IMO, the NOS Mullards (truly new or good used) are just on another level that no new production tube can touch (including EL34PH).

I've finally succumbed to the siren call of the vintage tubes and have a set of used xf2 OOs on their way to me. So in the next couple of weeks, there will be a second opinion on how these compare with the Mesa Boogies and PHs.

if people could stop making threats or issuing arbitrary deadlines, that would be great. Because at this point, the only way I can change things is by putting your unit on the burn-in rack ahead of someone else's. and i've already decided i will not be doing it.

+1.  In fact +2.  I don't know many of these threats you've been receiving, Justin but I'd be prepared to finance 2 more BHSE's in addition to my Sep 2012 order.  I don't need them, you can keep them until you have buyers for them.  I'm serious.  Just so you a******s know badly you are behaving.  It won't work.

This is exactly what I was expecting you to do -although I totally trust Golfnutz' opinion. As soon as I get my BHSE, I will try to get such Xf2 OOs tubes. May I ask you where you ordered them?

You're perfectly right on that point, Justin: you don't deserve any threats. On that score, I have a clear conscience: since I ordered my BHSE (Sep 28, 2012!), I just whined two or three times.
