the BHSE?  maybe 1 in 100 people would ask for this.  maxing out the volume control (either the RK50 or the DACT) is the same thing as not having one, psychoacoustics aside.

Thanks. Do you think maxxing out the volume would wear the parts (especially the tubes) faster than using it normally as an integrated amp or make it more prone to failures?

It has absolutely no bearing on the life of the amp.
Moreover you'd then be attenuating the input signal at the source side, from the point of view of the rest of the amp circuitry nothing has changed.

Exactly what nattonrice said.

The volume pot acts purely as a passive resistive voltage divider before the amplifier.

Source > Volume (Most resistance = No volume / Least resistance = Full volume) > amplifier.

Over the last couple of days I've been leaving the power on the BHSE an hour before listening to anything and from now on that's what I'll be doing. After an hour the music seems to be more alive with better separation. l like to listen to the acoustic guitar and listening to " Summit Day" that guitar sounds close to real life, IMO I don't think or l'm not sure audio equipment will ever reproduce real life sound, but the BHSE being powered for an hour then driving the 009's to me does sound close.

Those pics look nice but are the colors for real? I mean, purple leds, is that true? The BHSE looks awesome nevertheless.

someone else may know the exact reason, but it must be from the photography or post processing.  the LEDs are blue like the amp.  notice whatever the black box is on the table behind the BHSE appears to have purple LEDs as well

Yeah, it jumped at me, hence my questioning because it feels like a an example of HSV manipulation...

turn off auto white balance. Then use a white balance card to correctly set the camera
for what the real lighting is.  CCFL lamps really cause a lot of trouble.

That's probably the most likely reason, but is it possible that the camera sensor used is one that's a bit more sensitive to UV and the led's are emitting near-UV?
