Head-Fi Folding@Home: Join the team!

Hello folks. Just wanted to add myself on the list of Head-Fi Folders. I have been folding off and on ever since I got my PS3. I was wondering how many of you are still active and what setups you have.

I was thinking in the future, I might get a cheap PS3 and make that a dedicated folder ... since the PS3 is a pretty powerful machine to fold.

i was with one of the top teams in folding... but then ive stoppped, mainly because that couple of nonstop weeks of folding was to test the stability of my ps3.

Just joined the team earlier today. I started with the standard version but after this work unit ends I'm going to switch to smp.

Glad to see some new HF folders in the mix. Team Head-Fi actually passed the 4 million point milestone not too long ago

Currently I fold on 3 setups: an intel quad core doing smp, athlon64 X2 doing standard client, and a GPU client running on an ATI HD2600 vid card.

Also, a good place to check up on the team's (and your own) stats is HERE.

I thought I would bring this thread up again since we only have 7 Head-Fiers folding right now. Our team used to be in the top 200, but now we are ranked well under 500. Let's make our team competitive again and work to help cure disease!

After being an Ars Technica DC'er (34th ranked on Team Crab Cake!) for over a decade, I'm jumpin ship to Head-Fi!

I've been slowly climbing up the ranks... too bad my graphics card is pathetic (1200ish PPD)

You should run a SMP client for multiple core processors: Folding@home - WinSMPGuideDEINO

I'd contribute to the head-fi, but I started folding for OCN a little while back with my hd4850. I don't fold much, but I feel that I might as well fold if I'm on the computer anyways. Besides, it helps warm the room up a little bit. :p

And a tip for anyone doing GPU folding: most of the folding operations are done on the shaders, so you can underclock the VRAM for like a 2% performance hit and less heat. That's what I do so my computer's fans don't bother me while I'm on.
