Its better than source... but not better than any of the cs updates before it came out. Even 1.5 was better.

IMHO, source has been vastly superior to CS 1.6 since the day it was released. I personally love how the hit boxes were reconfigured in source. Damage is much more relative to the area you hit an enemy. I think it only forces a player to bring their game up a notch and become more acurate. Plus the game is absolutly beautiful now.

CS 1.6 does have more maps and game types, which I think is the only advantage 1.6 has over source.

I agree that we should find a public server that we can all play on or someone here run a server. We don't have to form a clan just to play together. Perhaps one of Steam's or Gamespy's public servers. They are normally pretty lag free. I would be up for palying either; source or 1.6.

Maybe we could try setting up a day and time using one of these public servers. Maybe this weekend.....

This is a bit off topic, but one of my biggest pet peevs in any version of CS is logging into a server and soon as the round starts everybody takes off in different directions. CS is a TEAM based game, not deathmatch. I hate getting in a server where one team plays a group, moving as a unit, and the other team (usually the one I'm on) scatters all over the map. The team that scatters is usually the team that gets PWND. Had to get that off my chest.

i used to think that. me and my friends refused to touch 1.6 for months. but then everyone slowly stopped playing 1.5 and it died. then we tried 1.6 and couldn't believe how much better and bug-free it is. the gameplay very slightly changed from very aim-based to tactical and thinking. i like it more than 1.5 for this reason. sure aim is still VERY important, but just 10% less important than in 1.5

. cs 1.5 public gaming was almost like quake. i started from 1.3, and i loved all of them.

I started with the original CS/Half Life. I had been playing CS v1.0-1.6 for about 5 years before I started playing source.
