On Firefox 44.0--when browsing head-fi, as a new page loads, it would randomly bounce back to the previous head-fi page. The page would appear to finish loading, then the tab would flash the loading circle again once or twice, and before I know it, I'm back to my last page!

I suggest you try troubleshooting the issue by installing the No-Script plugin, which will allow you to incrementally disable/enable each script in the page one-by-one.

It's a very powerful and useful little plug-in, and trust me - Head-fi has a whole bunch of scripts running...

Same problem. Firefox Android & TenFourFox OS X.

Yeah, this site is ridiculously heavy, and I won't be the one doing the troubleshooting…

Edit: That would be 44.0 & 38.6.0 respectively.

I've managed to get Firefox to do this, but not on every page load. I suspect a bad advert script.

I have now tried Firefox 44.0 on Windows and Ubuntu. Oddly, this happens less frequently on Windows, but is particularly bad on Ubuntu, totally unusable.

Whoever created this should be terminated for gross incompetence.

I've been told that the techs have reproduced it and are working on fixing it.
