Curious if anyone is bringing one of the Sennheiser amps - either HDVD-800 or HDVA-600?

They're said to be an amazing match with the HD800s.

Meh I tried the HDVA-600 with the HD 800 at one of the Nashville, TN meets and it sounded really clinical. It sounded really balanced, but very boring and lifeless. The Questyle amp was  WAYYYY better and gave life to the HD 800 without sacrificing any sound stage or detail. I would recommend going after the questyle amps personally.

Debating pretty hard about bringing the turntable and sacd player since it basically adds a second or third carry trip, the rest will fit in one plastic container.  Anyone dying to hear vinyl or want to bring vinyl/cds/sacds to spin?  If not I'll just bring the digital stuff.

Think there will be at least a couple more TTs if you want to save a trip or two.

I'm going to join in from Houston. It's been a couple years since my last meet up and I have loads of new gear I can bring (and since it's mostly transportable, I won't need much space).

I don't how much stuff I'll bring, but it will be some of the following:

Headphones
LCD-2.2 (non-fazor)
Grado HF-1
Fostex TH-X00
AKG K7XX
Astro A50
Audiofly AF240
Plantronics Backbeat Pro
Pioneer SE-A1000

IEMs
Jerry Harvey Audio Custom Layla
Audiofly AF180
Echobox Finder X1
Klipsch X10
Audiofly AF78

AMPs/DACs
Grace Design m9xx
ALO PanAm
Headroom Portable Desktop

DAPs
Astell&Kern AK 380 + Amp
FiiO X5 (First Gen)

I'll probably end up bringing a laptop as well.

If anyone would like me to bring any of the aforementioned gear specifically, let me know and I won't leave it behind.

I am very curious to hear the Massdrop Fostex TH-X00 , I have a modded D2000 and been wanting to know how they compare. I am planning on coming up from San Antonio

I got the Earsonics SE-9. Amazing IEMs. For me they are the most enjoyable with the AK-380. I will be bringing it to the meet.

If it's any help, I owned the D5000's, D7000s, LA 7000s, the TH 900 and now the LA 900. Although they were comparable, the TH 900 was in fact clearly better than the modded D7000. For this reason, I would expect the TH-X00 to be better as well. The thing the old modded denon cans have over the newer fostex models is that they are way more forward with their sound reproduction and less laid back, lending itself better to rock driven listeners. On a technical level, the Fostex is superior, having faster decay, tighter bass, fuller mids, and having a presentation that is better suited to multiple genres. But for rockers who "feel" music more there will be a perceived drop in quality.

The TH-X00 sounded incredible both plugged into my living room receiver with 16/44 .wav rips via PS3 and Gungnir Multibit unbalanced into JDS Element and balanced into Liquid Carbon. My goto albums are "Moving Pictures" by Rush, "Rumours" by Fleetwood Mac, "Undertow" by Tool and "Slipknot" by Slipknot.

The night I used the home theater stereo, i didnt plan on listening very long, but i found myself laying on the sofa for hours. I was really impressed with the THX sound and thankful for the extremely long cord.
