Head-fi and BOSE

u can't call a product a rip off if it outperforms all competing products. period.

sennheiser can be laughing all the way to the bank for its he-90 sales but reality is, firstly, not anybody can make a superior product, and secondly, they DON'T. they get a lot less revenue from he-90 sales than their lower end phones.

think about intel's cpu line-up. all cpu chips come off the same press and it costs exactly the same amount to make, yet the top of the range ones cost 10 times more and perform about 80% faster. and most of their high end cpu's end up getting binned to low speeds because sale of high end cpu's so low. amd prices their cpus exactly the same way.

the pricing strategy is consistent throughout all industries. price/performance is never a linear relationship. how u can compare this to bose's marketting strategy is beyond me.

I enjoy the Bose ads. If you really pay attention to them, they really don't say they're the best. They simply sell the best "Bose" sound available through the most "trusted" name in audio.

They're fun to watch. They only talk about that amazing "Bose" sound within their own Bose vacuum and leave it to our own interpretation.

Bumping a 3 month old thread for this? Meh.

If it sounds good, then it is good. That's all that really matters. Who gives a hoot about the charts and graphs. If BOSE headphones sound magical to you, then that's all that matters. If the HE90 sounds magical to you, then that's all that matters. There's no reason that the BOSE listener and the HE90 listener can't both be equally satisfied with their music. There may be a huge disparity in all the charts and stuff, but placebo fills in the rest. Everybody's happy
