HE60 adapter question
Aug 12, 2022 at 5:05 AM Post #46 of 58
I forgot to post this picture of the adapter after assembled. The HE60 connector is still the 3D-print nylon one of the post above, since I had no luck with Delrin. However, it fits perfectly and I'm very happy with the results.

I had almost forgotten how great the HE60 sounds with strings. Awesome little cans!

I’m making a CNC-milled connector made of Delrin. Eric343 did this in the past, which has been used in some apuresound adapters. I wanted to start a group buy, but it seems to be prohibited in this forum.

Here is a cheap 3D-print nylon prototype which worked very well.

Very nice! May I ask where you source the connector pins?

I've been digging around into the history of contacts and such for this DIY connector. There's an old head fi post stating that a car switch connector could be good for the HE60. There's also the posts on a German hifi forum (post 1, post 2) that give out item numbers on the electronics parts supplier Conrad, some of which work today.

Looks like the TE connectivity 183025-1 works as connector pins.
I'm also interested if Hugo would provide the STL file for the connector, since that would make DIY a lot easier, as the female end for the HE60 has been the hardest to find.

Let me know if you find any solution, really want a HE60 adaptor to HE90 so I can use it on my HEV90 and another one so I can use it on my DIY T2.
Been looking for 2x HE60 female plugs for a while now, no luck.

I think I can provide the file, but I will ask Kerry first because it's a modification I made on the panel-mount connector he used in a custom T2.

I took the pins from this since it was the fastest/cheapest solution for me.

Here is the step file for the HE60 connector.

*link removed* - PM if you are interested.
