So I just received my new HE-500s today after a week. I immediately did the jergpad mod to my pleather pads. Only problem is: I can't get the pads to attach to save my life. I've been at this for literally over 2 hours now (yes, I don't give up easily) and still can't get them to attach. It seems like I can get 3 on fine, but I try and get the 4th and it doesn't seem possible to get all 4 to stay in place. It would be awesome if someone could enlighten me on how you do this (seemingly) simple task.

Still haven't got it working? At the 4th and last tab, push at the mounting ring itself, so it bend lightly. Meanwhile push down the last tab, and make it click in place. Alternatively, I think you can use a credit card.
 
Mostly, it takes around a minute for me to mount a pad

It doesn't seem like the actual mounting ring is large enough to have all 4 tabs go into place at the same time. As soon as I get the last tab in, the others just fall out.

Use a credit card to push the tabs in, as davidsh mentioned. It is really simple with a card.
