I see these are only $240 on amazon and the few reviews I've seen say there a good general propose headphone. I mostly listen electronica like DnB, downtempo/trip hop and general EDM but I sometimes listen to alternative rock and metal. Will I be fine with these or will I be better served by other phones in this price range like the dt880's and or Q701's?

HE300s have a very satisfying bass, a neutral midrange with a slight warm tilt, and fairly well-behaved dark treble. You'll enjoy it with your music genres.
