HD650 vs. HD600 - I prefer the latter!

I will trade you a pair of HD600 complete with purple Canare cable (Barney) for those nasty HD650. I just hate to see someone suffer so

Actually my HD600 and my HD650 sound almost identical. Of course they each have their own eq curve. I would recommend an eq over any high dollar cable mod. No comparison in sonic impact and level of control.

fwiw, the HD650 require much less eq to sound linear to me. I counter the rolloff in the deep bass, take out the bump around 80 hz, drop the peak at 5 khz, and counter the rolloff above 10 khz. Absolutely delightful!

I think I might just sit back and enjoy my HD600's for another year or so until Sennheiser brings out the rumored 700's.

There may just be something to the very long burn in theory. I do know that I enjoy them far more than I did when I first got them. But it is hard to tell for sure since everything in the chain except the headphones themselves has changed; Cardas cable, amp upgrade, new player and interconnects.

Heh, we are all waiting for the ethereal HD700. However, it is AKGs turn. First we have to wait for the K601/701, then the Beyer DT 890, THEN the HD700.

It's a plot, I tell ya...

If Senn. would come out with a phone(HD700) that would improve over the 650, as much as the 650 did over the 600. I would pee myself.

Good point, though the form factor of the 580/600/650 is pretty darn good IMO. They could move toward a more universal headphone cable connector.
