Agreed. I love and do buy pre-owned gear, but not headphones. Don't care if someone doesn't smoke, wear hair products or does not own a pet, they can keep the headphones.

Do you squirt anti-bacterial spray into a girls mouth before snogging her? No I don't so.

As long as it does not smell bad, why pass such good deal ?! You can always wash them if you fell like it...

Going off topic, but don't want to start a new thread for this. Can anyone with 650s tell me the dimensions of the box? Unfortunately mine didn't come with one, so I'm going to build one using timber and then line it with something. I could work out what size I needed but if it's easy and someone can post the dimensions, it would be a good starting point. Cheers.

Just pull them. They're not clipped in, just held in by friction. So pull slowly but firmly at any point on the earpad and you'll notice it come away. Then work your way around slowly and it will just slip out.

Here you go! All dimensions are in milimetres.

Outside of the box: 315x255x108
Inside of the box: 305x245x100

Might be off by a millimetre or two, my tape measure sucks.

Same here. I equate buying used headphones on the same level as buying used underwear and socks.

...mmmm pre-owned boxer-briefs. my fave.
As long as the previous owner didn't have lice, a nice hot bath with soap (antibacterial, if you're paranoid, but remember, it's bad for future generations!) will do wonders for the foam. And for that extra feeling of cleanliness, take the other parts of the phones and give 'em a gentle once-over with compressed air.
