hd650 Cutting out when moving head

So, i've had a pair of HD 650's for a coupe of years now and for the past couple of moths they have developed an odd fault.

Every now and then the right cup will cut out for a few seconds. it appears to be when i move around in the chair, e.g. sitting upright from reclined etc.

I have replaced the connector springs in each earcup and the issue remains, any suggestions on what the issue could be?

Did you switch the cable from right to left and see if the issue follows the cable to the left side?

I have not, for some reason, always thought they were keyed so wouldn't fit so didn't try. Will give that a go now.

EDIT: Swapped cable around and still issue with the right side.
