Will these sound good/Is it worth it to buy these even if they will go unamped, and be used with intergrated sound?

Also would they sound good unamped and with a mp3 player or what not

The pice is great so im really thinking of buying them, seeing as there only $78 more than my previous limit ($100)

I can't tell you how well they perfom without an amp and all that, but for $150 shipped to your hizouse, they have to be worth it if not now then in the future when you still have them & they still work fine (if nothing else because of the generous 5 year warranty that comes with them from Sennheiser even after being refurbished) and you actually have the money to buy music, sources, cables & amps that match them. For something that will last so long no matter if it "really" lasts that long or not & that is of such high fidelity I don't see how you can pass it up.

Well I live in canada, so i cant do the credit card thing, and they are not on amazon.ca so i cant do anything there. Also they do not ship to Canada, however, i DO live literally 10 mins from the border, so if they can ship to a PO box then its not too bad, but i dont know if they can. If all else fails, i have ppl that i know that live in the states to can get it shipped to their house, and when they come here (like 3 weeks) they can bring em over.

So as you can see, its not just $150 shipped to my door in 3 days.

Indeed an unfortuante cirtumstance you are in & a bitting problem that you alone can determin the proper solution for. Good luck by the way, cause I don't want your wallet getting all shrivelled up. I'm sure that living in Canada has its advantages though, right? Us USes have the advantage this time, but you will have it the next time on something else.

HD650 cable from Sennheiser USA $11.03 plus shipping (approx. $3.25)

As far as the sound, More
- more space, more extension, a noticable difference in sound -
I haven't gone back to the stock cable so would need to listen to it a bit to do a real comparison.

I'm lovin' your ID now...

So for $11.03 + aprox. $3.25 i'm thinkin' that it would be a very advantages addition to the HD600. Would you say that? $14ish is very little to pay for any upgrade in sound at such a hi-fi level where most upgrades are in the dozens or hundreds of dollars.

I am of the opinion that this was definately worthwhile, and in my opinion an improvement.
However in another thread I did note another member who had tried this and said it caused the HD600 "to lose that Senn magic" . . . so as always, opinions vary.

I will have to do some searching to find out about the HD650 replacement cable for my nice new cans. I have little looked into the replacement headphone cable part of Head-Fi because the only headphones that I have that would warrent a replacement would be mt Etymotic Research ER4P or my Grado Labs SR125. Now I have to sort through a bunch of different opinions on something that I will end up spending the money to make the opinion one that is my own. Dern you Head-Fi, always makin' me spend my money. I will keep your opinion on the HD650 replacment cable in mind.

Oh, and Nascar race starts in like 12 min., check it out if you have 3-4 hours in which to do nothing & desire to see grown men travel in a relatively large relatively circular patern for a relatively long period of time.

If you live in B.C. close to the border you can have them shipped to http://www.thelettercarrier.com/contact.htm in Point Roberts. I've used them a couple times and it's saved me quite a bit of money on shipping, duty and brokerage.

Do you have any experience with either or both of them? Does the extra insulation make any diffirence in the sound of the headphones? The feel & managability of the cord? The ability of the cord to withstand lifetime traumas from bending, winding & the like? The way you stated it it sounds like it doesn't have any differences besides the insulation?
