HD600 is definitely my favorite headphone so far. I just recently received HD650 and was very surprised that they have very different sound. I do not like sound signature of HD650 whereas I love HD600. I thought that was very interesting because I automatically assumed that I would love the sound of HD650 because I liked HD600 so much.

If this question was directed at me, I would say modded HD580 and HD600 sounds exactly the same to me. So, I prefer HD580 over HD650.

I've heard that there is 2 version of HD600 (and HD580/650 too).
The one with Black Filter, and the one with Silver Filter?
My HD600 is the latter one.

I wonder how the black one sounds...

Alhough i've never listened to a "new" hd 600,there may be a difference on the earpads of the new hd 600/650.The new earpads i bought 2 mounths ago for my 5 years old hd 600 were not the same(they were thinner than the older,already worn out pads) and the sound changed because the ear came closer to the drivers with the new pads.

I'v already started a thread about this yesterday but i don't get many replies.

Im sure its the same, the HD650 I had used the white material and on close inspection it looks the same as the black material only a difference in color. IMO the black looks better and stands out less than the white.
